Welcome to the website of the missions work we do.
We are currently in a time of transition. In the spring of 2014 we will be returning to West Africa to continue working there.
In December 2012 we left Mokanji, Sierra Leone at the request of the mission we had been working with. This was not our decision. Currently there is no work occuring at the hospital in Mokanji and there is no long term expat people there. While we were there we were drilling fresh water wells, forming relationships with the people there and working with medical outreach teams as they came through the area. Petra was heavily involved in developing relationships with the people in Mokanji and helping them in literacy. When the rainy season hit and we could no longer drill wells effectively we spent more time and energy in getting the Mokanji Hospital into a condition where it would once more provide health care to this area. Currently there is no work occurring in these areas.
From 2004 through to 2009 we lived and worked in Guatemala. We lived on the campus of Christian Academy of Guatemala in Guatemala City, Guatemala. This is a school that serves the children of missionaries serving in Guatemala in areas as varied as health care and orphanages all the way to seminary professors at the local seminary. Charles worked at the school as the Director of Maintenance and Construction as well as shop teacher. Petra worked in the rural villages using her training as a pharmacy technologist in the clinics, teaching ladies at a community center in the same area and as translator and assistant for both surgical and primary health care teams that came to Guatemala. Our boys Keith, James and Jonathan attended Christian Academy of Guatemala and Keith and James graduated high school from there. Read More »
